Our story

Our story begins in 1981, when Roberto Mazzei founds Alibrianza, his family-run business. From the very beginning, the selection of wines has always been careful and precise, and when his son Andreas joins the company, the objective is to create a wider range of wines with even higher quality levels.
Today, we can proudly state to have reached an important milestone in the realization of our great project: our Cantine Andreas Mazzei, which are exclusively dedicated to an accurate selection of wines coming from Piedmont, Sicily and Apulia.
It all begins in Piedmont in the ‘90s, when Roberto and Andreas make a long-time dream come true thanks to the purchase of the Cascina Radice winery. This property, whose origins date back to 1890, is surrounded by the marvellous hilly countryside of the Asti province, in the small town of Moasca. From the very beginning, we have tirelessly worked to modernise the production plant and enlarge the barrique cellars, along with passion and carefulness our vineyards have been enhanced.
Thanks to Roberto’s southern origins, also wines from South Italy start being more and more attractive, in particular Sicilian ones. That’s how the Andrero line is born, with grapes coming from western Sicily, in the province of Trapani. Through our collaboration with the Sicilian enologist Dino Croce, we have made a step forward in the quality control and guarantee of a constant quality level in wine production.
Thanks to its extraordinary winemaking potential, Apulia has also become a precious part of our company. As a matter of fact, long before this region gains its current reputation for wine production, the Mazzeis family is able to recognise the enormous potential of its local varieties. As a result, the Colle al Vento line comes true, featuring high quality wines, whose grapes come from vineyards located in the provinces of Brindisi and Taranto, in the South of the region.
Our rigorous and knowledgeable grape selection and the optimal vineyard management have allowed Cantine Andreas Mazzei to become synonymous with high quality and reliability.
Cantine Andreas Mazzei still works side by side with Alibrianza, which can boast the best-known Italian classic wines.
